A horses tail... summer
A horses tail Summer
It’s summer now I sniff the ground and feel the moisture from the grass on my nose.
It tickles and makes me snort a warm cloud of steam blown out from my nostrils. I lift my head and shake my mane as a fly rudely buzzed around my ear. Go away fly.
It’s summer and the air is sweet with the smell of hay. I love the summer, how the sun warms my back and the ground cushions my hoofs. I shake my mane high in the sky as the last rays of light engulf me.
In the summer my lovely owner leaves me out to graze and play all day in the paddock. I'm not scared of the night. The darkness doesn’t last so long as the dreaded cold winter days. I gently hoof the ground and neigh.
It’s summer now the land is warm, the sun is high and the nights are not so long.
I have a friend who comes to graze when we meet we play and play. She loves to throw her head up high. We nuzzle each other and she strokes my side. We lift up and dance around on our back legs. When she comes, her owner comes too and we often get to go out riding.
Oh, how I love to go for a trot along the grassy path. I stand up tall, so proud my owner always pats my back and tell me what a good girl I am. We trot along together we go. Sometimes these shiny machines wizz past but I do not scare my heads high and I neigh.
It’s summer now so much time to play. So many things to smell, and how I love to hold my head up high and neigh and dream of all the lovely things I did today.
