Poor Mr Marmalade...

Mr Marmalade  (if you remember, I've mentioned him before when Miss Furry and myself where star gazing out of the window), has two things he is absolutely terrified of. One, not to get himself stuck in the bushes as he is rather tubby and this happens quite a lot, and two never ever go past Miss Furry's  back garden in the morning.

Unfortunately, Mr Marmalade forgot one of these two things this morning. Mr Marmalade lives down the street (no not that way that's Mr-Kindly-next-door-neighbour, the other way).  And has to pass us to go home if he has been down the bottom fields. Probably sniffing Daisy's as he is far to gentle for anything horrid.

This morning Mr Marmalade forgot and though "ohh i'll go the short way back home for breakfast", well I presume thats what he thought. But unbeknownst to him, Miss Fur'ocious Furry ( it's the fine weather I tell you), was playing in the paddocks with the horses (Unicorns shh). Oh dear Miss Fur'ocious Furry spotted Mr Marmalade and that was that,  she was yawling so loudly that Mr Marmalade was rather stricken with fear on the fence, and had a very upset expression on his sploggy marmalade face.

I had to rescue him, well you would wouldn't you he is so lovely and gentle.  In all fairness Miss Fur'ocious Furry never does anything.  But she is very noisy and it is rather hard on the ears!!!... lets hope Mr Marmalade remembers tomorrow morning the two things he has to always remember, or  that if he does forget its just the one thing about getting stuck in bushes ( as that happens quite a lot)...

Helen Lewins is an author. Helen was born in Northumberland but due to the closure of the coal mines, her parents moved the family to North London to take up work as publicans. After school, she started an apprenticeship with an electrical engineering medical company where she worked for many years as a Service Engineer. With a calling for something else more creative she went travelling in the UK and worked the summer in a hotel on the Jurassic Coast. This led her to study hospitality management and after graduation, she took on a role as a hotel Manager back in Northumberland. Then her life changed forever and along came her beautiful son. It became obvious early on that he was developing at a different rate from his peers. He had limited speech until he was eight years old. Eventually, after quite a long journey he was diagnosed with Autism. That is when Helen started to write about Miss Furry to entertain her son as it was based on their pet cat. It has been a very personal journey for them both and Helen hopes that Miss Furry brings joy to other children. Helen and her Son live in Northumberland with Miss Furry who does indeed spend her days patrolling the fence.
