Would Thy Wait For Thee My Lass?

Would Thy Wait For Thee My Lass

I often sit so patiently
Upon our favorite bench
I wait and look and wonder still
If thee will pass thy way

My eyes though search horizon hard
My paws they tightly clench
I wait patiently for thee my lass
And never do I repent

My question though to you my love
With clear intent it be
Would thy wait for thee my lass
If it within you be

I wonder if was t'other way
I hoped that aye ya'would
No matter time of day my lass
Be morning or evening's good

But in my heart I know the truth
Be no waiting on  bench for thee
No thy wouldn't wait for me my love
No waits for me by thee

Helen Lewins is an author. Helen was born in Northumberland but due to the closure of the coal mines, her parents moved the family to North London to take up work as publicans. After school, she started an apprenticeship with an electrical engineering medical company where she worked for many years as a Service Engineer. With a calling for something else more creative she went travelling in the UK and worked the summer in a hotel on the Jurassic Coast. This led her to study hospitality management and after graduation, she took on a role as a hotel Manager back in Northumberland. Then her life changed forever and along came her beautiful son. It became obvious early on that he was developing at a different rate from his peers. He had limited speech until he was eight years old. Eventually, after quite a long journey he was diagnosed with Autism. That is when Helen started to write about Miss Furry to entertain her son as it was based on their pet cat. It has been a very personal journey for them both and Helen hopes that Miss Furry brings joy to other children. Helen and her Son live in Northumberland with Miss Furry who does indeed spend her days patrolling the fence.
