The mystery of the muddy paw!

It's been rather a peculiar time of late, Miss Furry has been acting rather strangely. Well I know what you are going to say but really even strange for her! We have had the haughty re appearance after a long time of not at home. With no explanation of her where abouts. The only clue is a trail of one muddy paw print on the kitchen floor.

Every night I stand at the kitchen door calling out into the darkening night for Miss Furry. I know you may think well, where's the harm? A cat likes to wander on an evening. But Miss Furry is scared of the dark and likes to be curled on on her chair. All tucked up cosy.

I thought this is rather strange what is keeping Miss Furry from her home and more specifically her favorite chair. The one that no one else dare sit on. Honestly it's just not worth it for the stare, followed by the cross look and then the "well if your not going to move I am going to knock all your favorite ornaments off" manoeuvre.

Not only have we had the rather late in coming but also the exceptional muddy paw.  Not all of the paws you understand just the one at the front. It would be a fair assumption to say well, "Miss Furry's just been digging".

But you see Miss Furry doesn't do digging she hates getting dirty.  Not because of the feel of the dirt on her silky fur. Oh no,  purely because she can't stand the effort of having to clean it off. " I mean mum, what cat has time for all that cleaning nonsense not me mum that's for sure! "

As patrolling your fence does take up rather a lot of your day does it not?

And there we have  it, the still as yet to be  solved mystery of the muddy paw... ( to be continued)

Helen Lewins is an author. Helen was born in Northumberland but due to the closure of the coal mines, her parents moved the family to North London to take up work as publicans. After school, she started an apprenticeship with an electrical engineering medical company where she worked for many years as a Service Engineer. With a calling for something else more creative she went travelling in the UK and worked the summer in a hotel on the Jurassic Coast. This led her to study hospitality management and after graduation, she took on a role as a hotel Manager back in Northumberland. Then her life changed forever and along came her beautiful son. It became obvious early on that he was developing at a different rate from his peers. He had limited speech until he was eight years old. Eventually, after quite a long journey he was diagnosed with Autism. That is when Helen started to write about Miss Furry to entertain her son as it was based on their pet cat. It has been a very personal journey for them both and Helen hopes that Miss Furry brings joy to other children. Helen and her Son live in Northumberland with Miss Furry who does indeed spend her days patrolling the fence.
