The return of the Fur'mous Five!

Miss Furry has many friends, well ok not many but some and to be honest I am not sure how.

As you will remember, but just in case you can't Mister Marvelous Mouse (who lives in the tumble down Shepherd house) with all his tiny, teeny furry friends.  Often has run- ins with Miss Furry pants.

Even though he does, he still finds it in his teeny, tiny but ever so kindly heart.  To invite Miss Furry to his rather joyous parties. Why just this Christmas he had a bring a feathery or furry friend party!

She never goes though, as in her words what would people think (which people!!) me at a mouse party, oh I could never do that.  All my (all your??) feline friends would be horrified and anyway it's not easy dancing with a tin helmet (yes, yes we know) two sizes to big on.

As it happens an invite was issued to Miss Furry brought by the rather clumsy and what a terrible lander Wood Pigeon who had carried the note all the way.  From the tumble down Shepherds house. For a fancy dress party this evening.

Miss Furry who had to Duck! at the incoming post carrier.  And then wait for the garden to settle down before approaching. "You do know you are not suppose to land in my garden?".  Mister wood pigeon looked at Miss Furry with his rather squinty eyes,  shrugged his feathers, dropped her note and disappeared as noisily as he arrived.

" What does it say? ", I asked... "Well! "... "It is an invite to a party, fancy dress, at the tumble down Shepherds house". Said Miss Furry "but I'm not going... I have my image (image!!) to uphold". "Well, well yes I suppose, but Erm isn't that Mister Marmalade over there, oh and Felicity, not to mention Mister Swirly Squirrel oh and... ". "Ok,ok" said Miss Furry.. "I'll get my tin helmet! I can go as a centurian. We can all be the fur'mous five."

Well yes, that would make sense Miss Furry.

Helen Lewins is an author. Helen was born in Northumberland but due to the closure of the coal mines, her parents moved the family to North London to take up work as publicans. After school, she started an apprenticeship with an electrical engineering medical company where she worked for many years as a Service Engineer. With a calling for something else more creative she went travelling in the UK and worked the summer in a hotel on the Jurassic Coast. This led her to study hospitality management and after graduation, she took on a role as a hotel Manager back in Northumberland. Then her life changed forever and along came her beautiful son. It became obvious early on that he was developing at a different rate from his peers. He had limited speech until he was eight years old. Eventually, after quite a long journey he was diagnosed with Autism. That is when Helen started to write about Miss Furry to entertain her son as it was based on their pet cat. It has been a very personal journey for them both and Helen hopes that Miss Furry brings joy to other children. Helen and her Son live in Northumberland with Miss Furry who does indeed spend her days patrolling the fence.
