The tails of two kitties...

Mr Marmalade has had quite a week, normally he quietly tip toes past our back fence using blades of grass as a disguise to hopefully not alert Miss Furry of his presence.  So he can  peacefully saunter down to the Daisy Field.

If you remember Mr Marmalade has now got himself a new hobby "staring at horse's" . Which he can spend many a long hour doing. This now means that he takes the front route past the Gallop to watch the horses and then past  Miss Furry's sunny window to go Daisy sniffing. This also means however he now misses the Fur'ocious Miss Furry on her  daily patrolling of the back fence.

This has rather annoyed Miss Furry who can't be outdone by anyone.  " It's not furry well fair that, I mean how selfish is Mr Marmalade, how inconsiderate, he doesn't even go the back fence way, I mean how can a cat possibly look at two places at once".  Oh dear I thought, but that's what wearing a Tin Helmet two sizes to big does for you!.

Miss Furry has now been wondering how, she can patrol the back fence whilst also at the same time keep an eye on the sunny window at the front, so she doesn't miss the ever so cuddly Mister Marmalade (stop calling him that!). Well, we are grumpy Miss Furry.

Of course Mr Marmalade is quite oblivious to Miss Furry's predicament and has been happily going down to Daisy Field after having stared at the horses. The front way past. All week.

Miss Furry on the other hand is quite dizzy with all running back and foreward.  With her Tin Helmet two sizes two big on...

Helen Lewins is an author. Helen was born in Northumberland but due to the closure of the coal mines, her parents moved the family to North London to take up work as publicans. After school, she started an apprenticeship with an electrical engineering medical company where she worked for many years as a Service Engineer. With a calling for something else more creative she went travelling in the UK and worked the summer in a hotel on the Jurassic Coast. This led her to study hospitality management and after graduation, she took on a role as a hotel Manager back in Northumberland. Then her life changed forever and along came her beautiful son. It became obvious early on that he was developing at a different rate from his peers. He had limited speech until he was eight years old. Eventually, after quite a long journey he was diagnosed with Autism. That is when Helen started to write about Miss Furry to entertain her son as it was based on their pet cat. It has been a very personal journey for them both and Helen hopes that Miss Furry brings joy to other children. Helen and her Son live in Northumberland with Miss Furry who does indeed spend her days patrolling the fence.
