The Cat behind the Curtain...

Miss furry has rather over stretched herself with repelling all invaders to the point that she has decided to have a little break. (Well we all need one of those Miss furry), and has reclined to her boudoir to be alone.

Well I though, this won't last Miss Furry can't abide being out of the 'furry loop' for any great length of time as, dare I say it her nosy self. Can't stand  not knowing what is going on (did I say that out loud ?)... But it seems that having to replace her Tin Helmet two sizes too large  every few seconds, as well as now, having to run back and forward to keep an eye on the front sunny window.  To spy on Mister Marmalade, and  what with having to patrol the back fence, (that's right with the rules stuck to the fence post waving in the wind) to repel all invaders!. She has exhausted herself.

I said to Miss Furry "you need to take it easy you do, it's not furry well good for anybody running back and forwards like that so much".  Miss Furry half opened one eye and then promptly shut it again.  Oh dear I thought.  She doesn't even  have the strength to  look at me with contempt like she does normally.

I thought it best to promptly go and see Mister Gnome at the bottom of the garden, who is great for any advice on all things furry or otherwise. His  home  you will be pleased to know, is now back under the now grown back Rhubarb plant.  To see what he though about the over stretched Miss Furry.

It turned out that Mister Gnome wasn't in, as he  in fact  has gone on his holidays too. As apparently there is a Gnome convention on, 'How to stop  goat's eating your home'. Well I thought what is the chances of that indeed .   When Mister -kindly -next -door-neighbour shouted over the fence.

"Where is Miss Furry?"...   " I haven't seen her today"... "She normally comes to see me for a tummy rub and a chewy treaty".  I explained that she has over stretched herself and today was having a sleep.  "Oh that a shame I loved her coming  in the morning, she is such good company".  I looked at Mister-kindly-next-door-neighbour with a look of utter confusion "are we talking about the same Miss Furry?"... who knew she could be 'such good company'... not me that's for sure.

Miss Furry I am sure will be back to repelling all invaders in no time with her Tin Helmet two sizes too large on as she can't bare being out of the 'Furry loop' for anyone...

Helen Lewins is an author. Helen was born in Northumberland but due to the closure of the coal mines, her parents moved the family to North London to take up work as publicans. After school, she started an apprenticeship with an electrical engineering medical company where she worked for many years as a Service Engineer. With a calling for something else more creative she went travelling in the UK and worked the summer in a hotel on the Jurassic Coast. This led her to study hospitality management and after graduation, she took on a role as a hotel Manager back in Northumberland. Then her life changed forever and along came her beautiful son. It became obvious early on that he was developing at a different rate from his peers. He had limited speech until he was eight years old. Eventually, after quite a long journey he was diagnosed with Autism. That is when Helen started to write about Miss Furry to entertain her son as it was based on their pet cat. It has been a very personal journey for them both and Helen hopes that Miss Furry brings joy to other children. Helen and her Son live in Northumberland with Miss Furry who does indeed spend her days patrolling the fence.
