Big big city

We had a lovely day in Newcastle, one good thing about having a city not too faraway is all the free art galleries and museums. Myself and little person thought we would have a jaunt.

We had forgotten the quay side was full of market stalls, musicians and loads of street food on a Sunday.  With the sun shining it had a lovely happy atmosphere little person took a picture from the millennium bridge.( I can't say that with out thinking of dinner ladies when they said minelium) love Victoria wood!.
Anyway I've gone off on a tangent.

It was brighter than it looks in the picture you can just see all the white canvas rooftops of the stalls. In the back ground is the famous  Newcastle Tyne Bridge, they based the one in Sydney Australia on this one.

The art gallery is in an old flour mill and they have different artists all the time. I love taking little person as  it usually sparks a conversation. This time the artists was Rashheed Araeen. Called a Retrospective. The Baltic does quite a lot of free workshop also.
All in all we  had a lovely day just the cost of our bus fare.

Unfortunately for Mister Marmalade, he, forgot one of those two things on this fine sunny day! Also available in Canada, USA & Japan. (As well as the UK.) Please use there respective stores to purchase them in those places. Above is the UK Link.

Helen Lewins is an author. Helen was born in Northumberland but due to the closure of the coal mines, her parents moved the family to North London to take up work as publicans. After school, she started an apprenticeship with an electrical engineering medical company where she worked for many years as a Service Engineer. With a calling for something else more creative she went travelling in the UK and worked the summer in a hotel on the Jurassic Coast. This led her to study hospitality management and after graduation, she took on a role as a hotel Manager back in Northumberland. Then her life changed forever and along came her beautiful son. It became obvious early on that he was developing at a different rate from his peers. He had limited speech until he was eight years old. Eventually, after quite a long journey he was diagnosed with Autism. That is when Helen started to write about Miss Furry to entertain her son as it was based on their pet cat. It has been a very personal journey for them both and Helen hopes that Miss Furry brings joy to other children. Helen and her Son live in Northumberland with Miss Furry who does indeed spend her days patrolling the fence.
